Micro School · Year 6 & Year 9
Finally. A School Small Enough to Know Your Child.
The Ambleside Stawi Micro School offers Cambridge Checkpoint preparation for Year 6 and Year 9 — with just 4 students per class. Four structured days a week, a flexible Friday, and teachers who truly know your child.
THE PROBLEM
Most children are invisible in their classrooms.
Most children heading into Cambridge Checkpoints are sitting in classrooms of 30, sometimes 40 students. They are working hard. But they are not being seen. A struggling concept gets missed. A gifted child gets bored. A quiet child stays quiet. And parents only find out at the end of term. There is a better way.
THE SOLUTION
Just 4 students per class, every child is seen.
The Ambleside Stawi Micro School is a full academic programme for Year 6 and Year 9. With just 4 students per class, every lesson is a conversation. Every gap is caught early. Every strength is built on. Your child is not just known by name — they are known by how they think.

Who It’s For
Open to any family who wants more for their child.
You don’t need to be homeschooling. You just need to believe your child deserves better than being one of forty.
The homeschooling parent
I want structure and expert teaching without a full five-day commitment.
The frustrated mainstream parent
My child is in a class of 35 and is invisible. Nobody notices when they struggle.
The Intentional family
We’re looking for a small intimate international school.
The checkpoint-focused parent
Year 6 or Year 9 — results matter. Cambridge 2027 is coming and I want my child ready.
✦ The gifted or struggling child — who needs more attention than any big school can give.
WHY YEAR 6 AND YEAR 9
These are the years that matter most.
Year 6 and Year 9 sit directly before Cambridge Checkpoints — the assessments that shape a child’s academic trajectory. The habits, the confidence, and the foundation built in these years follow a child for life. 2027 is closer than it looks. The families who act now give their children the longest runway to prepare. We take that seriously. And so should you.
YEAR 6
Cambridge Primary Checkpoint
The bridge between primary and lower secondary. Get the foundations right here and everything that follows becomes easier.
YEAR 9
Cambridge Lower Secondary Checkpoint
The gateway to IGCSE. Year 9 sets the tone for everything that follows. This is not the year to coast.
FRIDAY EXTRACURRICULARS
Because we believe in the whole child.
Every Friday our community comes alive. Micro School students are welcome to join the wider school for enrichment activities — the kind of joy that makes childhood memorable.

Piano
Individual and group lessons from qualified instructors.

Violin
Classical training that builds discipline, focus and musicality.

Swimming
Coached sessions in a safe, encouraging warm environment.

Basketball
Teamwork movement and fun to round out the week.
Spaces are limited
4 students per class is a promise.
